Delhi Darber also own the take away near the church. I hope the Academy Barber can do a tidy up job of the building they are moving into as it's the worst looking in the town.

Yes Delhi Darbar. I also heard the rumour about Avoca. time will tell. The empty site looks awful, so hopefully something will go into it very soon.

That's great. I love the one in Rathcoole/Saggart.. It'll be nice to have one a little closer.

I see they got the decision (that their change of use from pub to retail should be exempt from planning permission). They do say it won't be like the Rathcoole one (in purpose/multi-purpose, or size, obviously), but more like the Monkstown one (even though the application still says there'll be a craft shop, not just a food hall + café). They don't plan (nor have planning permission) to do any construction in or out, and plan to use the old pub area as the shop, and the old restaurant area as the café. Hopefully they can get it up and running quickly, and good luck to 'em!

I see that the various references to Byrne's Butchers have been removed from the shop, which closed at end of June. The lights were on and fridge units moved around. Some people were in looking around. Appeared to have a sense of ownership/investor about them.

I heard an undertakers business is moving into the area but I presume the butcher's premises is a bit small.
