Cycle.. you don't need the car all the time. cant carry all the groceries on the auld bike.... True, but you could handle a bookies betting slip or an info leaflet from an estate agent whilst cycling, however, a weeks worth of shopping from Centra (if you have a spare €100) might prove tricky on the handlebars jeopardising yours and the general publics safety.

Oh for heaven's sake,, I'm not suggesting for a moment that you do your weekly shop in Centra or Spar.. way too expensive, but they do have special offers from time to time and I do avail of them.. I do my weekly shop in Aldi with a bit of SuperValu thrown in.. But, as for the main street, why not use the butcher for your meat.. buy your paper in the Centra or Spar and maybe cooked meats.. There's plenty of ways we can keep the main street ticking over by buying a few small bits on a weekly basis.

Pre pay parking and the extra car parks it was very difficult to get parking close to the Main Street due to all day/night/week/month parking and it used to be a real put off, now it is much better and a pleasure to frequent the Main Street and businesses and you'd never know who you might meet. The cost of the pay parking is minimal for those wishing to spend an hour or two around the town.

I try to support the town and area as much as i can but if i can get the likes of, carrots, scallions, turnips, potatoes and tomatoes all for less than the price of my parking in the village in Aldi well i'm afraid that is where i will go...and that is exactly what i did today... sadly every penny counts these days! And before i go elsewhere and try keep it in the town.. does anyone know if any of the jewelers in the village that would do engraving on a baby bracelet while i wait!

If they don't do the engraving while you wait there is a fair chance your man opposite the Abbey Lodge pub will.

John from Academy Barbers is opening another shop, with his wife, in the shops beside the Celbridge House. The last few times I've been in his shop in the village it was packed so hopefully this will spread the business and he can keep the two going

minimoocher, go to the guy opposite Abbey Lodge. He's a proper jeweller and very reasonable with his prices.

The last few times I've been in his shop in the village it was packed so hopefully this will spread the business and he can keep the two going was in the new stop this morning its in the unit where the dry cleaners used to be. They have it split in half on the left is a hairdressers for the ladies with a little more fancy decor and on the right is the barbers for the men with more basic fittings. Hopefully it will take off as there is alot of houses in the near area

Well, I hope they do well, but I would have thought that another ladies hairdressers is the last thing needed in Celbridge.. But, I've been wrong before, and hopefully, I'm wrong now.

New pharmacy opening on the Main St where Lilywhite Dry Cleaners were. I hope they are part of a small group and customer focused as we are looking to change our custom to a different one.
