Hi,
Just catching up with this story
what is the councils goal in putting in the paths, the road markings ?
- slow traffic down - make money from parking (solid lines usually mean parking fees right ??)
We really need speed bumps on Togher Road from Drogheda Street down as far as the lights beside Super Valu. The road surfaces are feckin shocking too. But then why the street furniture down Main St. Odd choice

WOW what a turn out Monasterevin Folk are angry and rightly so. Let us keep together and we will get a good out come. Then who knows what we will tackle next. Maybe Cowpasture Cross if we can find it.

..yeah right on there sal, great publicity and fotos on local press this week.......... ..hey coocullen....thats an ignorant response.........i thought we were all supposed to be pulling together here, people sometimes have genuine reasons for being unable to attend meetings etc,i note you are fairly new to the forum (and of course entitled to your opinion ),....darch has been on here from the start and if i'm not mistaken was a member of the old monasterevin forum as well, perhaps you would like to browse through his many posts and you will see he has been very proactive regarding our town........

Not much to be honest, they talk the same rubbish no matter what they are talking about but at least they turned up,sean looked pissed off and bored to be there and could not answer anybody's questions straight without turning it to a different subject,i do think they know more than they are letting on and the matter could be resolved a easer than they claim.I wonder which one of them will take the credit when the road is returned to normal, i think all credit should go to the committee rather than some politician who is just doing what they get paid to do.Good to see such a big crowd at the meetings maybe peoples mind set is changing in the town .What did you think ros ? Also could some from the committee keep people up to date on here as to what stage we are at?

Also could some from the committee keep people up to date on here as to what stage we are at? agreed with that about the politician's, sean o looked like he was sitting on a thorn and then he done a very fast runner, mainly because he wouldn't have to answer question's on a one to one basis. spike couldn't stop playing with his phone (must have been some game) and as for the other man, jeez sounded like something you hear in the pub's after hour's. run me down, but my vote of confidence goes to suzanne doyle. am proud of the turnout and the amount of pride we ,monasterevan people have in our town. let's keep going till we get our town back on the map with pride.

In regard to the politicians I'd be on the cynical side. I do think that they can help get this lump of concrete taken up or adjusted. They have reacted to the support given to the protest, they'd be mad not to. They may even be able to encourage the council to tell us what is likely to happen before it happens, although they claim not to have known this work was about to be done.
In regard to keeping people informed, I did ask one of the officers on the committee to ensure people know what is going on, it might not be on this forum but through the local papers and radio. It is very important that people who are exercised by this event are kept informed, they might not be able to keep going to meetings but they want to know what is happening, now that the process has started.
Hopefully they can go on, to protect the interests of the people of the town.....
