mcfc - what does that stand for? Are you the chairman? Maybe you could introduce yourself in terms of what capacity you are posting?
Any chance of responding to some of the questions that have been raised over the last month or two or least provide an update of where the whole project is at or what has happened over the last few months?

mcfc that was your first post on this forum, are you the new Spokesperson / PRO for the Committee. If so, that would be great, we can start to get more information about what's happening. Don't be shy, with the committees permission, let us know what's happening, generate wider support for the project. You don't necessarily have to come on here and answer every little question, give us a summary of the progress, or lack of progress, there may be someone on here would could help, or know of someone who could help with obstacles to the project. Try us.......

thebetterhalf - are you the better half of mcfc as you seem to have some insights there and have just started posting at similar times?
If anybody knows Miss Melia could you direct her to this site to start doing some Public Relations officiating?
Been almost a month now since I asked Sal to ask the committee to start providing some updates - I presume they have met since to get Miss Melia on board. I'm starting to feel ignored now!!!

sal, Good to hear from you again. What did the committe say in relation to posting a summary of the minutes of meetings on this site?
A step by step account is exactly what I am looking for - I've no idea what has been done since the original community meeting. It is a community facility - I didn't realise you had to swear some sort of secrecry pledge on the committee!
I've raised about 10 questions over the last few months on here and none have been answered - I'm not looking for anything unusual only some accountability to the community as to the progress so far especially if you are trying to raise money.

JC - no idea what u talking about .....at similar times>!!!! I just heard the info and passed it on. Maybe you should get on the committee - 10 questions from you alone - dont think anybody has time to answer all them. We should wait and see what comm member/new PRO has to say.

The lack of enthusiasm and drive here totally amazes me! It's only 5 months since the public meeting which was described by many as 'historic' in terms of the numbers that went to it to show their support. All groups in the community were represented and even Martin Heydon was there to urge everyone to work together to get this done.
There were no shortage of people vounterring to get on the committee. I've explained before, I am only 4 years in Monasterevin and don't know too many people here. I also work in Dublin and can work quite long hours. I have said (If you read the thread) that I am willing to help in any way I can outside of the committee but all I'm asking for is some updates on what is going on.
thebetterhalf - again if you read the thread you would know there are a huge amount of unanswered questions relating to this project. Lately there have been signs that all is not well with people leaving the committee. I am concerned that this project is going off the rails now after only 5 months and momentum has been lost.
mcfpro, mcfc, sal, ros or mrcc - could one of you please provide some updates if you know what is going on?

This is my last post as mcfpro. jC, options were there for people to volunteer for the committee from day 1, any one could have volunteered, no one was refused, in fact it was the biggest committee I have ever been on. As with other committees in the town, some of the usual suspects went forward, the same people who are willing to give some of their free time to committees. There were some new faces as well, which was great. Competing interests are a good thing, we need the best solution. There were frequent meetings to begin with and then the summer holidays came along, it was at this stage that I missed a couple of meetings due to other commitments, that is the reason I resigned, I cant give the required commitment. I do very much agree with your last point, and it is something I pointed out in my resignation, that it is important to keep people informed of what is happening, good and bad. JC, there is a vacancy there now, maybe you could volunteer for the job as PRO, I am sure that they would be delighted with your help. JC, mcfpro is no longer, it was an account created specifically to report as PRO. It would appear that MCFC may be something to do with the new PRO, or certainly the committee, as they posted a thank you for the committee, it was their first post as well, so possibly a new account set up for that purpose. I am just guessing that, I don't have any direct knowledge, now that I am no longer involved. I still think communicating with the people of the town is important, although having resigned, I am partly to blame for the lack of communications.

jc, I don't have any inside information on the Community Council Facility. I am curious like most people as to how they are getting on. The last post, thanking people for the money raised, will give them enough money to get the survey done. That is based on information already posted on here. I suppose the next big bit of information they have, will be the results of that survey. Lets hope that all goes well and they can proceed to the next step. We need a community facility, the sooner the better.

Any news on the Monasterevin Community Facility folks, it is early Oct since anyone posted here about it. I don't buy local papers, so don't know if anything is happening. Going by the info above, they should be in the survey phase, or maybe the survey is complete. Anyone able to shed any light on what is happening?
