What do you mean Oh no.. What's the problem. The gate to Castletown at the end I live (Batty Langley Lodge) opens at 7am and closes at 9pm approx.. That's fine by me. If I want to go for a walk in Castletown I'll go between those times.. I don't think it's unreasonable, and it's certainly better than not being able to get in there at all...

Lads whatever your views are , if you don't put them on paper and send them them to KCC and also phone your local councillor there is no point in having a view as it won't count.
There were about 4 people took the time to write their views on Parking.
I think a lot more people will write about Castletown as we all love it.

Chew chew i dont live in castletown development,..My sister does. I use castltown gounds alot though and i dont see why I cannot hve an opinion too. Im sick of scumbags hanging around up there drinking,..this cant be stopped untill the woods etc are fenced,..My sister is pro fence too as the woods beside where she lives are a nightmare,..recently there was wheely bins littered all over the place close by her and constant anti social behaviour etc,.I understand your point but i think the fence will be for the greater good and maybe if it goes up castletown housing estates reputation will recover a bit

I was merely asking a question I didn't make a point in my last post i think the fence will be for the greater good and maybe if it goes up castletown housing estates reputation will recover a bit I do agree with you (weren't expecting that now, were u? ;D) it'll be a sad day when that happens.. but I think it's needed. Today, sitting looking out my mams kitchen window and there were loads of little kids playing on the green area at the woods. It makes me sad tot think that one day, that right will be taken from them!

How did you figure the kids will not be able to play on the green area at the woods if a fence goes up? Have you seen the map for the proposed fence? does it take in the green area?

But surely if the gates to the area are opened at 7 in the morning and closed at 9 or 10 at night, the kids can play there all day? Or are you talking about somewhere else?

Sorry, I should ahve made myself clear. I know the fencing is not going to be right on the edge, but will be inside the woods, or am I completely wrong? That's the impression I got..

For all of you followers who believe the fencing is the issue to keeping out as you describe the scumbags can i just put a few little points to you.
I have walked through the woods at least 4 times a week for the last 15 years and at least 50% of the scumbags to which you refer to are actually residents of the estate and come from very respectable backgrounds.
Also have you actually looked at the planning permission document. The fencing wouldn't keep out a 4 year old child has it is basically a mesh fence and believe me when i tell you no matter what type of fencing they put up your scumbags again as you refer to them will get passed no problem.i have seen kids using car jacks and crow bars to force fences open.
The only reason for this fence is to fence us the residents out and the people who honestly think that the gates will open from dawn to dusk are only fooling themselves.
Finally and possibly most important one of you stated that their sister lived in the estate near the woods.Does she have or intend having children who may or are already playing out with their friends.Again i ask did you read the planning permission and notice the inclusion of a 3 service gates within the castletown estate. That means anything from a car to a 40ft truck can use our estate to gain access.
WHEN A CHILD IS KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED COME BACK TO ME THEN AND TELL ME FENCING WAS A GOOD IDEA.

There are refuse collection trucks going up and down every road in every estate nearly every day of the week even moreso now with all the competition and often reversing the full length of narrow roads. How come people are not up in arms over all the intrusion and danger of refuse trucks? The current traffic caused by refuse trucks far exceeds any possible future use of service gates in Castletown Estate. Service gates would be required mainly for emergency services. I'm just trying to put some perspective on the situation and keep a loose lid on some of the more emotive arguments.

You most probably don't live in the estate joepublic because if you did you would remember a couple of years ago they opened one of the gates at the back of the estate to use as service gates when tarmacking the avenue and every day we had cars trucks diggers and vans speeding through our estate.
You are right refuse trucks do come in and out of the estate at different times during the week. Why do we not kick up a fuss? Use your head joepublic because it is a necessity.
Service gates are most certainly not and There is perfectly good access off the N4 and also through the main gates in the village.
Why isnt that enough because they want to take the service vehicles away from the front of the house and have them come in a back way so there house is all lovely but it doesn't matter about the estate.
I dont know where you are getting your information but Where did you pull from the sky that the service gates would be for emergency services, that is the best yet.You need to do research because you are giving people completely the wrong information here. You are telling me they need 3 access points for emergency services yet in the years living here i have never seen one have to enter the grounds from Castletown estate.
You need to wake up and smell the coffee and they only have one objective in mind and you can mark my words and anyone else reading this will in the future say Jesus he was right .
They want us out and be before you know it they will be locking the gates earlier and opening them later until such time they wont be opening them at all. And slowly but surely they will eventually have it all and we wont be able to do a thing about it.
