Enough is enough.I'm sick of going into shops, cafes restaurants, supermarkets or wherever and having to explain to foreigners what I do or don't want.

ah no I know what u mean. it is difficult. and I know its harder for the older generation to adjust. and it does annoy me. trust me. I work with many different nationalities and there is a percentage on non national patients I have to deal with as well. and it can be challenging,

I was walking down the street this morning and did'nt know if I was in Soweto,Warsaw,Shanghai or Islamabad. We're seriously thinking of moving out into the countryside somewhere and I know I'd HATE rural life. But I'm sick of it.

Nobody asked me if I wanted change. And whats to welcome?People from failed countries and failed cultures instantly demanding that their "identity"be recognized and acommodated. Why does'nt anybody stand up and say"You people made a bollocks of you own countries,we're not going to let you do the same here".Why?.Because you'll be prosecuted, thats why.

MrA
This from an article about Irish Immegrants in times past.when our country failed and was in turmoil (not unlike some 'foreign' countries now):
"Between 1820 and 1860, the Irish were never less than a third of all immigrants. The British Passenger Acts attempted to deflect the immigration from the British Isles to Canada instead of the U.S., making the fare a cheap 15 shilling compared to the 4 or 5 pound fare to New York. Many Irish soon found it convenient to take the affordable trip to Canada, where they could buy cheap fares to the U.S., or cheaper yet, they could walk across the border. By 1840, the Irish constituted nearly half of all entering immigrants, and New England found it self heavily foreign born. By 1950, the Irish consisted of one fifth of all foreign born in the originally homogenous region"

At least we all more or less understood each other....lol, also these countrys expected their immigrants to follow the laws of the land and culture,Not like here where little pieces of our culture are being changed to suit the immigrant.

Very true Holly. When you have a lot of people who don't speak the language and they live with each other and work together, ghettos are formed. I have no problem with anyone living here as long as our laws are abided and our culture is not taking a back seat. Our government is to blame if that happens. They are too eager to bend down and have their arses kissed by Brussels for money. The story in the paper over the last few days about the pakistani employer who brought a fellow countryman over to work in his restaurant and then held his passport and paid him €50 a week is a case in point, and this guy can't be named for legal purposes!!!!!!!!!! name and shame to make sure he can never do this again. He kept that man a virtual prisoner for 3 years!!! Who runs this country? He should have been deported.
