another bloody annoying ad that probably has a lot to do with the recession etc is that ad for 'your unwanted gold jewellery', imagine sending your gold jewellery off in a bag and patiently waiting for your money to arrive. a friend of mine did it localy and within a week she got a cheque for 150e... she couldn't believe it. She had a couple of small broken chains, odd earings, and just sent them off. She didn't care if they got lost, but was extremely delighted to get the cheque in the post.....

Here or in UK? If she got 150 then she probably could have got more elsewhere, they have to have a healthy profit margin.

Since we got DVR a few months ago, I don't think we've seen a single ad, just fast-forwarded them. Such a comfort, they really take ads to a new level of 'good Jesus please turn it off before I batter me new telly' over here.

sky boxes are great for recording and fast forwarding the ads... you can even programme (very simply) to record a series automatically every week.... and its so nice sitting down to watch and just fast forwarding the ads....
Localy, do you really have a 52" TV......? It must be a huge room to view a TV like that!!!! Enjoy ..

I have gone through what seems like, hundreds of ads, all of them much better than anything that's on today, but no levis ad with that song, other ads with that song, but no levis one. Sorry Mr A, are you sure it was a levis ad. Yes local, definately Levis. It was really influential at the time,so much soo that we changed from Wranglers to Levis.

Where the f...k do I mention having a 52" TV? I don't. I have a 42" TV but I have a very big room so it doesn't look that big. What I hate to see is a huge big tv in a small room so that it dominates it completely, when you see that you know that tv is a huge part of the lives of the people in the house. Truth is our big tv is rarely turned on, we watch the one in the tv room which is normal size or the one in the kitchen which I think is about 32". Ok another bloody annoying ad those internet bingo games one where that silly cow wins 20p and nearly explodes, this ad is always followed by the stupid insurance ones with the talking phone and mouse, voiced by Stephen Fry and Paul Merton. they should be kicked up and down the road for those ads.

You seem very touchy about your 52" screen locally, don't be:theres nothing to be ashamed of.But,if you're thinking of getting rid of it,I'm sure you could find a good home for it up in Ballymakeady.

Ballymakeady sounds like a place in Cavan but it isn't, nor anywhere else either. I'm sure local has a 52" screen with goldfish moving around.

Yes I do. Believe it or not I have one for the car my hubby bought me a couple of years ago. I have never used it as I do draw the line at watching tv and driving.!!! I have 2 tvs in my kitchen, but only one of them is used as a tv, the other is for the cameras!
