You are welcome. Today the great sport of "The Count" begins. When the results of the first count are known, then "The Speculation" of Government formation can begin. The RTE election website has some very interesting articles. I particularly found the set of articles by Sean Donnelly interesting. Here is a link to one www.rte.ie/news/election-2016/2016/0121/761872-election-2016-sean-donnelly/It will be interesting to see how his rules hold up this time. ps I have no connection with RTE - I just found their web coverage more informative than the web coverage of the papers ( irishtimes.com independent.ie or irishexaminer.com )

I will read all of it.... Thank you grumpy. Joe Public, who is first TD in Celbridge, since 1973? The word I heard yesterday was that Frank O'Rourke was the first TD elected to represent Celbridge, and so I assume that Joe Public a) is referring to Frank O'Rourke, and b) knows his Celbridge history. Joe who was the previous for Celbridge?

Thank you for that.
As a blow in to Celbridge, Terry Boylan TD pre-dates my political knowledge of the area and county.

Thank you for that. As a blow in to Celbridge, Terry Boylan TD pre-dates my political knowledge of the area and county. About 19,000 of the 20,000 population of Celbridge are blow ins if not more.

Was Charlie McCreevey from Celbridge ? According to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_McCreevy he was a TD from 1977 to 2004 for Kildare and Kildare North. He did live in Celbridge, but his business was apparently in Naas and that was where his original power base was. There was also another TD who lived in Celbridge for many years - but he was a TD for a Dublin Constituency.

I don't see Celbridge mentioned on that link, he did play football and hurling with Ardclough though.

You are correct Celbridge is not mentioned in the article.
I understand (from reliable sources) that he used to live in Crodaun.
