Can anyone explain how this can happen? I have my obvious suspicions but I thought the days of TDs on the fiddle were over. On the front of the latest Kildare Post there's a story about Kildare TDs claiming 24K expenses for August when the Dail was not sitting, they all claimed more than 3K except for Catherine Murphy who claimed about half of what the rest were claiming. Some claimed exactly the same to the cent for July and August as if they just changed the claim dates and re-submitted, would they? On checking Dail attendances from Jan to Oct 2013 here www.oireachtas.ie/documents/members/attsd20130831.pdf you can see no attendance records exactly match between the two months so it's unlikely claims should exactly match. Are the days of unvouched expenses not over?
