i couldnt agree more Vanessa... im sick and tired of politicians telling me what to do... its like they think the people are just plain thick in the head.... its one rule of them and another for us... they are above everything and everyone.... tbh I think we are turning into a communist country.... i feel i am losing my freedom even to think because they are trying to brain wash us all into thinking their way is the right way and nothing else matters..... and its any party thats in power.... it just goes to their heads... . sorry rant over.. but i really feel this!!!!

Not everything can be sugar coated Vanessa.. the childrens referendum is the name of the thread.. The government is trying to Guilt trip people into voting yes... do you love children? yes, then you'll vote yes.. I love children, I know many people who love children, I don't want to see children hurt, abused or mistreated. that doesn't mean I'm going to vote yes though. AG being a he was a typo.. and I honestly don't know what Frances Fitzgerald being a mother of three has got to do with anything.. does that mean she can speak for all children, and a social worker wow.. Sorry, doesn't mean a thing.. I don't have a lot of time for Social workers. Well I voted 'YES', when you see the likes of Catherine Mc Guinness advocating a 'yes vote', after all her experience of Family Law. Well, I was quite happy to go with that. However I wouldn't agree with the present Government on other issues.

The law as passed is not the same as the UK and god help us all - does anyone remember the case of the families in a town in the UK where the children were all taken on advice of social workers and it took the families two years to prove they were innocent and get their children back. Imagine the phycholocial damage done to these children and parents...... that is the way we are heading now....

Imagine the harm done to children in the Kilkenny Incest case also that notorious case in Roscommon, where the State could not act.
