Well, it will put a stop to stupid town twinning.. as far as I can see only served to send fat arsed councillors on beanos all over the place.

I was hoping Celbridge would be twinned with somewhere in the south of Spain or Portugal and tidy Towns would get a yearly jolly - it's getting a little less likely now.
Maybe with all the town councils gone then Celbridge might get on a closer level with many of the towns it contests with in the Tidy towns competition.
Minister Gormley announced a similar plan in 2008 but nothing happened.
