Local, Eircom are the pits, I use them for Busines and for home use in Monasterevin, and the service has been dreadfull lately. They promise that they are going to improve / upgrade the exchange but I dont think they have the money. They have been sold so many times in the last number of years with one speculative company after another taking as much money out of the company as possible. It was the worst decsion ever to sell the network (the lines) when they first sold Eircom. Sell the retail side but not the infrastructure that was paid for by the people of ireland, through costs and taxes, not for venture capitalists to siphon off the money and bring it abroad. Just another of the long list of mistakes FF and their partners have made when in government.
Rant over............
The new owners are actualy a telecoms compnay albeit from the Far East, maybe they will actualy spend some money on the infrastructure rather than just try and make a quick buck... I wont hold my breadth though....

I use Eircom for business and Perlico for home, just for the phone tho. I have the Eircom broadband from the business re-directed to my home, as the business is more or less on-site. I used to have Vodafone mobile and that was fine for a while, but then it became so slow that when I turned on the computer and waited for the home page to come up I could actually go and have a shower and have a cup of coffee. Absolutely ridiculous and not worth the €30 a month I was paying just to have dodgy broadband. I once downloaded a map on to my hubbys sat nav and it took 4 days to download!!! We are real eejits in this country aren't we!!

avg free is brilliant, I've used it for about 4 years now and I've never had a problem. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
