Fair points Joe. Pity you are not the admin as you always maintain a level head and explain things clearly. I do however question the wisdom of hiding behind a closed forum if the reason for it is indeed to encourage free speech! Rant over.

It's a temporary precautionary measure that will be reviewed soon. Free speech is not affected but abusive threatening speech directed at posters is not welcome unless it comes from Mr A because nobody takes any notice of him.

Thank you Joe, for handling this so eloquently! Basically a function that we have at the moment that I am testing is a review of all new members. Anyone who registers (and has registered since the forum was locked) was put in a queue pending approval from the admin. I have since gone through everyone and found a few people who have re-registered under multiple names so I've had a bit of tidying up to do. The forum is not going to stay closed forever. I can assure you all that. Just for the time being it seems to be the best option for myself and moreso the Mods. They are the ones doing the best part of the work as I am going to be awol for the foreseeable future (yes ye are finally getting rid of me) Should any thing occur when the forum is opened publically and the mods feel it should be closed up again, it will! simple as. And Eff80, as for you concern regarding the lovely group at boards, rest assured. . . . they couldn't give flying f*ck about little old us! Now, I hope to have finally cleared up alot of questions and queries. and my apologies for being so negligent, but as I said I have some other 'personal issues' that require alot of my time at the moment! Chew.

Heres my 2c worth. Its a pain the ar*e logging in, but it only takes a few seconds, its not that big a deal. Its the abject dismissal of a sizable portion of regular posters opinions that is more annoying. There is obviously a pecking order, an absentee administrator (creator), a dictator in his place and a couple of moderators who's opinion doesn't seem to matter too much either.
At least it creates a bit of controversy and banter, I am a fan of good lively exchanges of opinions and fundamently believe that that is what a good forum is all about.

"Its good to be the king" You could say "an absentee lanlord" since he's over in Manchester but in WWW terms does that matter? I agree he has been a bit quiet of late but we can carry on regardless and be subservient to the queen.

He's not in Manchester, and never was. More Wolverhampton or thereabouts But he is back here in this wonderful little village we have! Christ knows why. I can't wait to get out of it! Ros, you make me laugh. . . please. . keep doing. . . . I'm enjoying the overrule.
