Vicar if you go to the gallery section of Monasterevin On Line there are photos, including St. Patrick's day from last year. There is always room for more photos. There is no parade this year, only one person turned up for the planning meeting, canceled due to lack of interest. I am sure one of the Mods will advise on how to load photos on here as well.

Lilly those were two different things, the marquee in Moore Abbey was back in the 70s, the canal festival was the 80/90s. The canal festival was mostly (not all) ran by publicans at the time so that they could avail of extended opening hours, more drinking time. As soon as the we got extended drinking hours every weekend they dropped their interest in it and it died. There were other issues over the cost of insurance and that which contributed to its dowfall. I would say that the publicans were raging that there wasn't a parade in town yesterday, the pubs were very quiet in the afternoon / evening.

There are some great old documents and photos of Monasterevin in the Library. Can anyone tell me how old are the industrial units at the back of Glanbia and what type of business was carried out in them?

Kway, great photo, well done.
Vicar, your wife is right, Reece Dinsdale is the guy in question, he was in Home to Roost with John Thaw, and now in Corrie.
