''oh '' we are here alright. just they seem to be chickening outta everything. in response to ''fudge74'' s question. it's a great town to live in, if you have a car or mebbe a motorbike. cos with one supermarket it's not a great place for shopping. so apart from that . it's probably like almost any other town, pubs, sport, and two different religion church's. oh yeah an the internet-ha ha.

fudge24, I'm a native of Monasterevin. Its ok, its primarily a dormitory town, there is not much employment in Monasterevin, there are no large industries etc. Depending on you perspective that can be good or bad. The population is approx 4-5 thousand, it having almost doubled since 2000. It missed most of the boom in house building, because it started later than others. That's probably a good thing. There are 3 primary schools, one Boys, one Girls and one co-ed COI primary. There is 1 secondary school. There are few shops with the exception of a Super-Valu, loads of hairdressers, Barbers, Pubs and a few local shops. There are loads of Clubs and Societies. The usual mix of sporting and non sporting. We still have a Garda Station and it probably will survive the current round of cuts, apparently its strategic ! Crime is the usual mix of petty theft, kids messing, nothing too serious, that I know of. There are drugs around, I believe, the same as any small town.
Probably the best thing we have going for us, is our location. We are less than an hour from Dublin, by car, loads of trains now too, and buses. We are on the crossing of the Grand Canal and the River Barrow, very picturesque, loads of walks and natural amenities, parks, playgrounds, a forest, playing fields etc ...
Any more questions

looking for a 2 bedroomed apartment in or around monasterevan. however none seem to be available. bell harbor have 1 or 2 comin up, however rent is way too high for my wallet. don't suppose you know of any. furnished or un-furnished either will be deemed suitable.
