got back from carphone warehouse, and they weren't very helpfull. phone is still the same so my only other option is to swap my phone with my son,s. cos his has a longer message tone. it will be the last time i go to them for a phone. I thought all voice mail functions would be under the control of your service provider like Vodafone, O2 etc. and they would specify how long a voice message can be left. Do you mean if you put your sim in your son's phone then you can leave a longer voice message?

joep, not a longer message i want, its a longer message tone, mainly due to the fact that i am partly deaf but too stubborn to wear a hearing aid. the phone i bought only has a message tone lenght of approx 15-20 seconds than it stops. the last phone i had would go for about 2 min or so.

You have me confused now! You better explain exactly what a "message tone" is.

You have me confused now! You better explain exactly what a "message tone" is. message tone is the sound or music you hear, when your phone receive's a message. ie. if i sent you a message on your phone now, your phone would either make a beeping sound or play a song that you picked.

Now I have you - message alert I would consider 15 seconds to be long enough for a message alert, even too long, no matter how bad your hearing is. The message will still be on your phone, it's not like a missed call. You still have the vibration option I presume.

Joe, I just noticed that when you click on profile my personal details , like my name , my e-mail address and age come up, Forgive my stupidity but I didnt realize that all of this could be viewed so easly. Could my e-mail address , my age, DOB etc be removed . What I might do is get a new user name so that I can start again and retain some privacy. I just didn't realize that with one click my details all come up. Can they be read by all other users who click on my profile . Glad I had no rows with anybody!!!!

You can further modify your profile by clicking on "profile" ( beside logout ) and then clicking "modify profile", you can hide some things under "preferences" and even change your date of birth like most women do

I can't touch your profile so you'll have to fix it yourself and if you need a calculator there are some good online ones.
