Is it true that the Hazel Hotel closed this morning,i wont be backin monasterevin until tommorow and thought i heard it on the news at 3pm?

Is it true that the Hazel Hotel closed this morning,i wont be backin monasterevin until tommorow and thought i heard it on the news at 3pm? yep,closed at 11 this morning,i hope the people who have there weddings and party's booked get there deposits back.It wasn't a great hotel but sad to see it close,i am sure most of us had a few good sessions up there.

It got a mention on this week's Kildare Post as being a good place for a beverage. There is a 2 page feature on Monasterevin in the Post.

It feels like a death in the family, so sad, another landmark gone, and so sorry for the staff some have been there for 20 years or more and a few of them not only lost their jobs but their accommodation as well, then there's people who had functions, party's, and weddings booked so a lot of people affected, including Mrs and John Kelly. Really hope everyone gets through this ok;

I do feel sorry for the staff because i know what its like,and for the Kellys are they are very nice people,i just hope its not wrecked like anything else that is left vacant in the town

stop feeling sorry for the owner's of these buisness that go into liquidation. you will never see them down at the dole office or social welfare officer. they always have a little something in another account. it's the worker's that i feel sorry for.
