A good side effect of the new opening hours is that two garda were seen on the beat on the main street this morning. This may have been a one off as they may have got mixed up and arrived early and then decided to go for a walk.
The new opening times - Mon - Fri 2pm to 6pm & 7pm to 9pm, Sat 2pm to 6pm, Sun midday to 2pm.
I hope the garda/i on the beat continues as the physical presence on the street is better for community policing.

I'm wondering why the grass at our local station hasn't been cut yet this year, it looks very bad. I hope they are not planning to close down our station even with the new opening hours.

The Grass cutting contract for kildare garda stations was up for tender last month,,, usually takes the garda head office 2-3months to give new contract in which time stations are not maintained,as i am aware no contract has yet been given

The Tidy Towns grass man was going to ask them if they wanted it cut until they got sorted. He may have done it.

No the Tidy Towns man didn't cut it as it looks a bit too untidy a job.
