Butterfly, ive been lots of times and Jersey Gardens defo for a couple of reasons... its in New Jersey which has no tax on clothes whereas woodbury common has and its $48 return from the port authority which is on 42nd & 8th st. It can get quite crowded and its really not worth the hassle. only a few dollars to jersey gardens.....make sure to go to century 21 for handbags and of course macys where there is always a sale.... for transport use the underground $2 a trip from central part to ground zero.... if you want to pm me I am well familiar with the Big Apple.... lucky u.... first time in NY is always the best.. I just love standing on 5th ave and taking it all in......enjoy...!!

I've never been to New York, I'd love to go, I've only been in Vegas and Florida. Hope you have a wonderful time and bag lots of bargains.

I find it very hand to keep my feet on the ground JP...... but you are so so right, i do know my way around new york. its so easy for me there as it is a grid system..... now why don't we have something organised like that here, not the higgildy piddily roads that actually go nowhere?

It'd be no fun going everywhere in straight lines.

now now localy.... it takes all kinds and everyones mind works differently. a grid system is simple and basic and its impossible to get lost, everything is done by numbers.... not like the mish mash road system and signage that we have in this country!!!!!....

I'm just back from NY since last Thursday. I have to say in NY city you will find no value in the brand name shops ie GAP Lacoste etc but if you go to the outlets deffo or china town for handbags. I think Century 21 and DSW for shoes are deffo my favourite.
I have not been to Jersey Gardens but have been to Woodbury common and loved it. Marshells has all the brand names it's like a TK Maxx but way more organised.
You lucky thing happy shopping.

Agree with April and Killerqueen. However, if I was going to New York I'd not go shopping. Far to much to do over there. . . for shopping you need to go to Boston/Philadelphia/Chicago

i was in chicago and while it was ok for shopping, it is such a beautiful clean city. I don't think i have been to a cleaner or nicer one. It is just lovely..... in the summer though.... Joep you would just love it... no litter... no chewing gum... beautiful clean old buildings... everything looks like it has just been washed down......

It used to be number one in America for crime and murder!! May still be.! Buildings probably just are washed down, to get the blood off!!!
