I think I have a major problem. There are four User Accounts on my PC.I use one of them all the time but,a couple of hours ago when I tried to log in,I typed the password and it did not work. What came up was "The User Profile Service has failed.User profile cannot be loaded" Tried help and support but no joy there. I have loads of stuff in that account but it seems to be lost. Anyone? If you're running XP and you can log into one of the other accounts then you should be able to access any of the files on any account. You just need to know where to look! Open Windows Explorer and go to... C:>>Documents and Settings>>"Username" That will give you access to your desktop folder and whathaveyou. If you're running vista it could be the same or something similar, or it could be locked out completely. I'm not too familiar with that awful OS.

When my computer crashed in November I got it all sorted or so I thought.. I got a few e-mails recently, one or two of them need excel for me to see them, but no excel. No microsoft word, nothing. The only disc I could find was microsoft works which is a load of rubbish, it wouldn't work anyway.. So, I tried downloading Microsoft Office went through the whole hullaballoo of doing that, downloading installing etc. But, still nothing. anyone know where I'm going wrong.

.. So, I tried downloading Microsoft Office went through the whole hullaballoo of doing that, downloading installing etc. But, still nothing. anyone know where I'm going wrong. Did you try right clicking on the file and select "open with" followed by "choose program" and then look for excel? Another thing, if you go to "all programs" is excel there under Microsoft Office?

Microsoft Office isn't even there. I had the disc for Microsoft Works 8.5, but it is totally crap, and won't open any excel files even tho it had Excel in it. I downloaded the Excel reader that West Albany gave above and it works a treat. I was able to read all the e-mails.. Thank you so much WestAlbany, I appreciate it.
