Hi, I suffer quite severly from hayfever every summer. I have heard that locally produced honey can help to regularise the pollen in the body so the hayfever does not affect so much. Does anyone know where I could purchase locally produced honey? I am living in Celbridge. Thanks

I haven't noticed any local honey in any of the local shops but you could ask in the health shop opposite The Mill.

Get a few hives and start your own... Try the market in Castletown on a Sunday, maybe they would have some.. Personally I would take Manuka honey, it's much better for you.

Manuka honey is good, but if you suffer any way as bad as I do with hayfever, then honey ain't going to do a thing but taste nice. I get the hayfever injection, which I'm booked in for next week!!

There used to be a farm between Straffan and Kill, one of those farms open to the public with farm animals and some exotic animals too.Anyway, they used to sell their own honey, but I dont know if the place is still going

That's the Morell Farm, Turnings, Straffan - I was never there but I used to see a sign for it.

I dropped a jar of honey yesterday, it smashed.. obviously.. the job cleaning it up!!!! OMG, I used kitchen paper to start, that stuck to the floor, then I tried newspaper, that stuck too, and tore.. then I picked out all the glass, because the dogs were trying to lick it up!! eventually I sprayed it with flash to make it taste horrible, then scraped it up with a fish slice and had to mop the floor about 5 times...... I now hate honey

You should have given it a session with the hairdryer first then it would have been easier.
Try it again and see how you get on ;D

Honey tastes of sugar which appeals to over 90% of the population and is healtier than white or brown sugar.

Thanks for all the suggestions:-)
I have tried every anti-histamine there is! not 2 mention nasal sprays which I think are point less, they make u sneeze and what happens, it all comes back out again! Nothing seems to wrk for me:-(
I considered getting the injection, but then I read that it was a steroid injection and that kinda turned me off it! does it have any side effects?
I have been asked to be a bridesmaid in July 2012 and am not looking forward to carrying a tissue in my hand all day nd my eyes to be bulging, so I am determined to find a solution this summer so that I know what to do next yr! The summer is just no fun sometimes when u cant leave the house without a boz of kleenex!

Maybe you should give acupuncture a go. I've had it for sinus problems and it's fantastic. It keeps me sinus blockage free for about 3 months at a time.
