I want to change my broadband provider and want to get the best deal, with the best speed. Not too fussy about whether I get phone or not but would depend on the deal.
Totally confused, so can anyone recommend who i should go with? thanks a mil....

Go for UPC/NTL including the TV channels and let us know how you get on and then we'll be wiser.

movin my computer into the garage, but on a trial run my computer could not open the internet. now it's approx 10 yard's to the house but about 20 from the router. now i have a buddy who will connect a phone cable from my phone line into the garage. now my question is, would another router do the job of giving me internet. please answer soon, as the old room is getting wallpaper stripped at the moment, so youse can imagine the feckin mess i am sittin in.

Move the router into the garage and connect it to the phone line there, only problem is that it will go off line when someone uses the phone or it rings unless you get the filter connected back in the way it should be. You can't have two routers on the same line.

You could put a sheet over over your desk, keyboard and your feckin chair and take off when you are in. I presume the router is a wireless box and you tried to get a signal in the garage and couldn't. You could try moving the router around a bit in the room and check if a signal turns up in the garage.

mcfly it would definitely give you an excellent signal ..... but at the cost of 400 euro... but for us it was definitely worth it as my husband works from home sometimes...... the signal was terrible and in the end it was the only way to boost it no matter what supplier we used....

April is probably picking up an open signal from someone else's house, could be the Setanta, and then boosting it.

talking to a bloke in peat's in whitewater, newbridge tuesday. he was tellin me that for €80. they would sell me a device, i forget the name of it. but this item will pick up the signal from the router without movin the box from it's current position. the signal will be good as well. anyone else tried something like it.
